In an earlier post I mentioned that WordPress owes its success as an open source publishing platform to the Plug Ins aftermarket it fostered. If they can even be counted, there are more than 11,000 plug ins out there. They extend the functionality of WordPress, transforming it from a basic blogging tool into a full content management system. As I keep building my internet marketing business, and as I come across useful Plug Ins, I’ll let you know.

New Plug Ins Sharpen Your Tool
OK, I’m letting you know about some new Plug Ins, well at least they are new to me! A friend of mine is taking the same course I am and recommended these. They have made my writing more productive and easier, if not better?
Easily insert YouTube or Google videos into your blog without HTML code. Just install the plug in, then type, for example, in the visual mode for your post.
Zemanta is a great tool that looks over your shoulder while you type your post. Based on what you type, it gives tips and advice and suggests related content and pictures. It’s easy to include related articles and media in your post from the suggestions. For example, right now it is suggesting articles on usefule WordPress Plug Ins.
This plug in adds thumnail imgaes to the exceprts for your posts. It will use manually selected images, or automatically generate thumbnails for posts that have at least one image. You can have it regenerate images, apply to only the home page, or apply to categories. Very nice plug in!
Video Thumbnails makes it easy to automatically display video thumbnails in your template. When you publish a post, this plugin will find the first video embedded and locate the thumbnail for you. Thumbnails can be saved to your media library and set as a featured image automatically.

New tools are introduced constantly. make a commitment to keep current on the plug in tools that are available to make your web site better and you will attract and retain more visitors.
