Internet Marketing Keyword Research
Internet Marketing Keyword Research
Search engine optimization requires:
To find the best keywords for my domain, I discovered there are lots of keyword tools available. My goal is to create articles and pages that use popular keyword phrases to direct visitors to my site.
I started with the Google Adwords Keyword tool for a couple of reasons. First, it’s free!
My niche is internet marketing, so I start with the phrase internet marketing.
Then I add action, buying, or learning keywords to my phrase. Good learning keywords are:
- Learn
- Learn To
- Learning
- Learn How
- How
- How To
- Instruction
- Instructional
- Fix
- Build
- Course
In the keyword tool, I want to check the box to only show ideas that closely match my search terms.
Then I cycle through, trying different keyword phrases and see what kind of search results are displayed. The results with higher numbers will make good keyword phrases for me to use for pages and posts.
I can generate more phrases by going to google.com and doing a Google tilde search. A tilde(~) search tells Google to search for both the specific word following the tilde and its synonyms. For example, lawyer and attorney. So I can find synonyms for one of my action words or my niche market by doing a tilde search. This will help me build a larger list of keyword phrase to use in the keyword tool.
Internet Marketing Keyword Goal
My goal is to find 4 to 8 good keyword phrases. These will be the foundations of my web site. They will be the names of my pages and posts. For example, I have pages named Search Engine Optimization, Internet Marketing Strategy, and Niche Market. As I write posts that relate to these topics, I’ll create internal links to these pages.
